BRISTOL BRAVEHEART (Bud) AND BACK TO MY ROOTS |
Forty years ago I began with Welsh Mountain Ponies (section A), and so time
turns, and now I am right back where I started. "Bud" was raised by my long
time, now retired veterinarian, Bud Smith. As his grand children grew and
discovered other pastimes, Bud stood unused and untrained, a beautiful pony
in need of a new home. I had always loved him, and in a fit of temporary
pony insanity, brought him home.

BUD AT BRISTOL PONY FARM |
Bud has confirmed my real love of Welsh Mountain Ponies and has been a
delight in every way. He is always beautiful, never mussed, and never muddy,
yes, he is Mr. Perfect! I wanted him mainly to be my PET, but to do a bit of
something also. His first Welsh show début was a howling success, as under
two noted judges he placed---double First in 3 and over A geldings, double
Grand Champion A Gelding, one Supreme Champion Gelding (A, B, C, D). Bud
received enough points from just one show to be WPCSA Reserve Champion
Gelding South Central Region. Miss Heather Love, Eddy, Texas, exhibited him
to these good wins. Great job Carol and crew. |

BUD AND HEATHER AT THE SHOW |
This spring Bud will continue his education and hopefully start a career in
performance. Having been a breeder for forty years and a judge for over
thirty years, I know his potential for big time showing, but do not care to
go there. If "my little pony" can be a gentle, useful, and proper ambassador
for the Welsh breed, that is enough for me. He will continue to show locally
and to make children happy.

PEYDEN, TIFFANY, AND BUD |
*NOTE - It is fitting that Bud is a grandson of our old stallion
Lithgow Houdini, great grandson of one of our original stallions Hollyrun
Sunray, and is DOUBLE *Hartmoor Rhymer, an original import to the Texas stud
whose blood we used for years. All of these stallions can be viewed on this
website.
